Your privacy matters to us. This policy describes what information we collect and how we use it to operate Letterhood responsibly.

Letterhood Inc. ("Letterhood", "we", "our") operates the Letterhood platform. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you consent to the practices described here.
We collect information you provide directly — such as your name, email address, username, bio, and letters you publish. We also collect information automatically when you use the Service, including your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, and referring URLs. If you connect a third-party account (e.g. Google) we receive information from that provider as permitted by your settings there.
We use the information we collect to: operate, maintain, and improve the Service; personalise your experience and deliver content relevant to your interests; send transactional and promotional emails (you may opt out of marketing emails at any time); enforce our Terms of Service and Content Policy; detect and prevent fraud and abuse; comply with legal obligations; and respond to your support requests.
Letters you publish, your username, display name, avatar, and public profile information are visible to anyone on the internet. Think carefully before publishing personally identifiable information in a letter. If you choose to publish anonymously, we still store authorship information internally to enforce our policies.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; request deletion of your information; object to or restrict certain processing; and data portability. To exercise these rights, email privacy@letterhood.com. We will respond within 30 days.
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact safety@letterhood.com.
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Letterhood is based in India. If you use the Service from outside India, your information may be transferred to and processed in India and other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by emailing the address associated with your account or by posting a notice on the Service. Your continued use after the effective date of the revised policy constitutes acceptance.
